How and Where to Obtain tBNB for Testing the Emmet.Finance Bridge

1. What is tBNB?

tBNB is the test BNB Token used on the BNB Smart Chain (BSC) Testnet. It provides developers and testers with the ability to experiment and test their applications without using real funds.

2. Why Do You Need tBNB?

To test the functionalities of the Emmet.Finance bridge on the BSC Testnet, you'll need tBNB. Just as you would need real BNB on the main Binance Smart Chain, tBNB is essential for covering transaction fees and other operations during the testing phase on the testnet.

3. How to Obtain tBNB:

a. Discord Faucet

  • Join the BNB Discord and navigate to the test-faucet channel under the faucet section.

  • Type the command /faucet ${your-wallet-address}.

  • Switch to the BNB smart chain testnet in your wallet and check your balance.

b. Online Faucet

  • Use the online faucet to claim your tokens.

  • Copy your wallet address and paste it into the textbox.

  • Select the tokens you need to claim. Major pegged tokens like BUSD, USDT, and others are supported.

  • Note: If your wallet balance is larger than 1 tBNB, you cannot get new tBNB from the Discord bot faucet. You can only claim once in 24 hours.

c. Third-party Faucets You can also claim tBNB from the following third-party faucets:

4. How to Use tBNB on Emmet.Finance Bridge:

Before you can use tBNB on the Emmet.Finance bridge, you'll need to add the BNB testnet to your MetaMask wallet:

Adding BNB Testnet to MetaMask:

  1. Open MetaMask Click on the MetaMask extension icon in your browser.

  2. Select the Network Dropdown At the top of the MetaMask window, click on the network dropdown.

  3. Add Custom RPC Scroll down and select "Custom RPC".

  4. Enter Network Details for BNB Testnet:

  5. Save and Select Network The BNB Testnet should now be available in the network dropdown.

Once you've added the BNB testnet and obtained tBNB, you can use it to test the functionalities of the Emmet.Finance bridge. Ensure you're connected to the BSC Testnet on your wallet (e.g., MetaMask). To start testing, visit the Emmet.Finance Bridge and follow the provided instructions.

5. Important Notes:

  • tBNB has no real-world value and should only be used for testing purposes.

  • Always ensure you're on the correct network to avoid loss of real funds.
